File Integration Framework

We're starting to research using File Integration Framework to create a fixed width file. For testing purposes, I'm using one query with section type = detail. The query contains character, date and number fields. When I preview the file output the only data that is showing is the number field. I do not have any variable definitions defined so I'm not sure why the data from the other fields is not showing. Does anyone have any ideas?
