Configuration to automatically finalize EM events

We created a custom process to set the finalize flags, then run Ben Admin for events used to default coverage.  We're trying to get rid of as many customizations as we can, but I don't I know of a way to configure EM events to automatically finalize.  I know this wasn't possible several years ago and I can't find anything indicating it is possible now.  Does anyone know of a way to finalize EM events automatically without using a custom process?  thanks!
