Oracle VM for SPARC named resources

Hi! We recently bought a SPARC M8-8 server. We decided to use ldom, so we installed Oracle VM Server for SPARC 3.6. The Oracle® VM Server Administration Guide for SPARC 3.6 on page 368 describes assignment physical resources to domains. In particular, it says "Do not assign named resources unless you are an expert administrator". I am not an expert administrator, but i want to understand what advantages or disadvantages by using this feature we can to get. I can't find any document what describes use cases of this feature, can anyone help me?
