M3000 xscf firmware update by ftp - flash images are held on Solaris 11.3 server

OK Updating XSCF firmware:

Over 11 years I have stored my XSCF firmware versions on a Solaris 10 virtual instance and getflashimage over ftp worked perfectly.

However after an upgrade to Solaris 11.3 getflashimage no longer works.

The actual ftp login seems OK but then I get can't connect or similar, I can't remember the exact message but that's not the point of my post.

MY QUESTION: Is this because the Solaris 11.3 default proftpd switches the actual transfer to port 20 and XSCF/getflashimage doesn't have access to that port?

PLEASE note that normal ftp connection and transfer from Solaris 11.3 to Solaris 11.3 instance is fine if I open ports 21 AND!! 20.
