ASM storage migration -> Replacing failgroups possible?

Hello there,

we are planning to replace our current storage subsystem by a new one. The only way I know for replacing ASM disks is to add the same amount of LUNs from the new subsystem to the existing failgroups and removing the old disks later on.

But since our data diskgroup consists of 94 LUNs (47 per failgroup with normal redundancy) I would like to use this opportunity to reduce the amount of disks by increasing the size of each disk. I am thinking of replacing the existing failgroups FG_DAT01 and FG_DAT02 (47x 200GB each) by FG_DATA01 and FG_DATA02 (10x 1000GB each).
