DNS query for certificate hostnames

We want to deploy TLS and SRTP on SBC trunk side.

In order to meet security requirements, we should use DNS names during certificate creation as "common name".

Can we do DNS queries and lookups for those names from management network or should we allow DNS access for signalling interfaces also?

Basically, all trunk side devices are in a closed network and will have DNS available, but for SBC side first idea is to do DNS queries over management interface.
