Is there a facility to copy account balances from one primary ledger to another?

I'm wondering if there is an easy way to copy/transfer account balances from one primary ledger to another primary ledger. In essence, we want to make a copy of an existing ledger. We don't want to use secondary ledgers because other than the initial (or opening) balances, these ledgers will operate completely independently of each other. Thank you so much for your assistance.
