Can a Plan Type be changed (for typo) if program has active participants?

Plan type has a typo that is making it look inconsistent on the Open Enrollment Enrollment page. We want to correct the error so that it shows correctly on the tile.  But we have active participants in this plan. Will this affect current enrollment if we edit the Plan Type Description?  The Plan Type Code will stay the same - only the Description needs to change to match the other 3 that are like it.

If OK, where to change the plan type description? This has been in there a while and I don't know where it was setup.
