Page & Field Configurator with Tools 8.57.04

I am using Page & Field Configurator to hide delivered fields we don't use and to also change labels of delivered fields.

We are on PeopleTools 8.57.04 and are updating to Image 31.  We are experiencing issues with the changes we make not "taking hold" and I am wondering if others have the same problem that are on the 8.57.04 version of Tools.

For example, I relabel the Center field to be Department/Center.

When I create an expense report, the field still shows Center UNTIL I open Accounting Defaults, click the Add Chartfield line, split the line 50/50 then click OK.  Now when I look at the distribution line I see the label change I made.
