Running ORAchk prior to installing 18c
Reviewing the docs for installing 18c, (Linux) prior to upgrading from 12.1.0.2.
In Ch. 1 of the Installation Guide, under "Installer Planning Checklist", it lists to run ORAchk with the -preinstall option as part of the pre-installation planning and assessment. Fine, except the installation instructions for the latest ORAchk (doc 2550798.1) state that the target location of the setup is to be a subdirectory of $ORACLE_HOME. Well, that's fine and dandy - seeing as we (the docs) are just in an assessment phase and we are several steps/chapters away from actually creating an Oracle Home.
Yes, I can be CDO - that's like OCD but with the letters in alphabetical order, as they should be!
