When will category auto reverse take effect?

Hello,

We had a journal category flagged to auto reverse in the new period via "Journal Reversal Criteria set" for both local and reporting ledgers in Oracle 12.2. I removed the auto reverse flag on Oct 1 but noticed entries posted in September still reversed in October. Did the September journals still auto reverse because they were posted to the GL prior to the auto reverse flag removal? Or should I be checking somewhere else to make the specific source stop auto reversing?
