Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Fixed Assets - EBS (MOSC)

R12 Asset Impairment for non-depreciating asset shows 'Depreciation Failed'

Hi,

We are on EBS R12 and requirement is to have an asset that is non-depreciating and requires impairment.

I have completed the setups as per Oracle Assets Documentation Update Note for Asset Impairment (Doc ID 402260.1)

I understand that for impairment to work, we need to have the depreciate flag set to Yes.

On the Asset Category, Depreciate flag is checked and I have set it for FLAT 0% as suggested in Doc ID 1428643.1

Added the asset in Sep-2019, depreciation run and period is closed. Depreciation calculated is 0%

Now in Oct-2019, I am uploading the impairment and status goes to 'Depreciation Failed'.
