Adding Item Supplier Record - Data Being Added Conflicts With Existing Data

We are experiencing the issue outlined in Doc ID 2565853.1. However the document doesn't specifically say how to correct or resolve the error message. It appears at one point the supplier we are trying to add to the item was previously associated to it, but was deleted. Now we are trying to add it back but cannot get past the Data being added conflicts with existing data message. Does anyone know how to resolve? Is there a sql update to a specific table we can do to stop the error from coming up?
