Invoicing and Accounting Rules in Order Management 12.1.3

Dear Team,

Can we use Invoicing and Accounting rules with Rule start / end dates for Non-Inventory Items during Sales Order Line creation, assuming I am using OM & AR Module ONLY version 12.1.3.

I tried entering rule start & end date which automatically populated Service start / end dates field in service tab and gives me warning messages as "Validation failed for this field'  service start date

I do not want to use Service Contract Module. Please advice.
