Adventures in upgrading - pre-upgrade assesment

Oracle 12.1.0.2 EE, upgrading to 18c on Oracle Linux 6

Reference Database Upgrade Guide 18c

Pre-upgrade assesment and pre-upgrade fixup both insist that I have 'events' (underscore parameters) in the database.  Yet neither a 'strings' command on the spfile, nor a complete 'show parameter' reveal any such. The closest are the double-underscore dynamic memory management parms.

I don't really think this is a killer, and will proceed with a trial upgrade, but wondered if anyone has any insight on this.
