UDO Security with * Public

Hello,

We are trying to figure out if what we are seeing in our security on UDOS is std.

Here is an example of what we are seeing.

1) Create a default grid in DV

2) Go to P98220U and change status of UDO from 02 to a 08 by APPROVING AND SHARING the UDO.

3) I log off and then I go back into the applicable application and I DO not  see the default grid.

4) I then go to view the security on the NEW UDO and I see a * Public record already created for my new UDO .

QUESTION:

1) Is it JDE STD that this *public record defaults in the first time the UDO is approved and shared ?
