oem 13c configure SLB

When configuring oem with slb, I noticed that the slb port is mapped to the managed server port.

For example for oms  SLB:443 -> OMS:7803 and SLB:5443 (BIP) -> BIP HTTPS Managed server port 9803

In both cases, the managed server is behind OHS, shouldn't OHS be the first contact point for a connection?

If we are mapping connection to the managed server, what the point or function of having OHS? Can someone

please explain the role of OHS in OEM setup?
