VM not booting after migration

Hello, I am migrating VMs from an existing Oracle VM install to a new one running on new hardware, using information found here in this KB document ( Doc ID 1544352.1 ). It worked really well for 3 VMs, but now I have one that does not boot. After starting it successfully from the Oracle VM interface, I open up the console to connect to the VM, and it is still at the boot screen, with the last message being Booting from Hard Disk...  I have already verified that the VM on the source system is not using EFI. I also did a successfull md5sum comparison between the root image of the source and destination to rule out transfer corruption. Do you have any pointers?  Thanks.
