How to handle temporary jobs work order in EAM

How to handle temporary jobs in eam work order.
For ex:
Some machines are having issues like leakage, repair etc. And it has to temporarily fixed due to insurance related things. It will be fix fully in upcoming plant shutdown or PM.
Engineer wants to track it and update the existed temporary work order on the day of final fix as fully done.
Some time the shutdown or preventive work comes a year. How to handle this.
We can create a separate work order type to track. but how to change or update it to normal type after some period of time. What will be impact of cost?
