kvm import fails with: Cannot get interface MAC on 'vnet%d'

Anyone come across "Cannot get interface MAC on 'vnet%d': No such device" when trying to import a virtual machine into kvm on ODA 18.7?  Could be bug Bug 30132504, similar to doc 2598443.1.
