Setup New Supplier Bank Account with an existing bank account number -> Error:The external bank acco

We need to setup a new supplier bank account with a different bank account name but use an existing bank account number. When we set it up, we receive an error message:

The external bank account already exists

One of the assignment of this bank account is related to operating unit

Should we be able to setup a new supplier bank account with a new name and use an existing bank account number?
