Where is the best place to store Packaging dimensions?

Hello,

Where is the best place in E1 to store product package dimensions?  Our UoM currently contains product height, width, length, weight, etc..  A team member is suggesting we implement a new UoM standard where we use IL, IW, IH, IW for the product's dims and then we create new UoMs, PL, PW, PH, PW, for the packaged item's dims.  What is the best practice here?
