Line type priority in E1 Fulfillment Management

Basic Scoring setup and Batch Scoring R4277702 use Priority by Line Type. Because Fulfillment Management only deals with committing and releasing stock items, I cannot imagine how you would use different line types with for calculating different priorities/order scores. My client has the requirement to prioritize by item attributes. Am I right that Item Category Codes can only be used by a Custom Function in Fulfillment Management? Theoretically, one could assign different line types to different items, but it does not make sense to have to setup activity rules for all those different line types.

Does anybody have any experience with scoring in Fulfillment Management or any idea how to use the line type?
