How To Change existing Calendar From Mar to Apr (New calendar Jan to Dec)

Our organisation wants to change current Calendar which runs from Apr to Mar (existing Calendar) and now they want to change Jan to Dec. Wanted to understand it is feasible. if yes then what will be the impact of existing absence process.

what will be the steps to proceed further please guide me.
