Asset Management - Classic Physical Inventory -Custodian/Location Changes

Is it possible to only process custodian and location changes using classic physical inventory? If so, can someone post the Define Inventory Occurrence and Physical Inventory Control settings? If you have a sample scan file that would also be helpful.  Each time we process a scan file with a custodian change & location change the custodial department ID is blanked out (the custodial department ID is not in our scan file). Thanks!
