Exadata Port Assignments when using firewall; Ambiguous Target terms

edited Feb 6, 2020 4:03AM in Exadata General (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered ✓

Hi,

I was going through this document;

https://docs.oracle.com/en/engineered-systems/exadata-database-machine/dbmin/exadata-network-requirements.html#GUID-A454…

And in section 2.7 Port Assignments When Using a Firewall there are some targets which I'm not familiar with. So if anyone could shed some lights on below terms and there functionality, I would really appreciate the help from the community. I have already asked the Oracle Support but they refuse to explain each database term used in that document.

Terms are;

plathwsvcd

evnd

partitiond

ASR backend

rpc.statd

gpnpd.bin

SNMP trap receivers

rpcbind

Thanks.
