What is the process to move data when one of our customer get purchased by another company, example.

What is the process to move data when one of our customer get purchased by another company, example. Company ABC has 7 years worth of transnational data but was just purchased by company XZY that could have its own data or in some case has no data as they are new to us. Company ABC will no longer be doing business as ABC but as XYZ.
