Query on Configurator

This is our requirement details in E9.2.  Sales order is entered for Parent configured item and configured sub-assembly (child config) items are attached to that parent according to certain criteria after config validation.  Sales order should display both parent and child configured items and need work order only for child config items. Also need to add additional lines in sales order which are not part of configuration rules of either parent or child config items.

Not sure whether we can setup parent config items without line type W in the system and then system should prompt config questions for child config items at the time of SO creation. If we define all parent and child config items line type as W, then SO creates WO for both parent and child config items.
