PO_DOCUMENT_UPDATE_GRP does not update need_by_date to NULL

Good Day!

I am attempting to use the API PO_DOCUMENT_UPDATE_GRP.UPDATE_DOCUMENT to update a PO shipment (PO_LINE_LOCATIONS_ALL.NEED_BY_DATE) to NULL.

In other APIs, this was accomplished by assigning the date field to fnd_api.g_null_date.

Unfortunately PO_DOCUMENT_UPDATE_GRP.UPDATE_DOCUMENT assigns the NEED_BY_DATE to 1/1/4712 when I do this.

Any help is appreciated.
