Move Media Objects from one database to another

my goal is to move media objects (Tools Release 9.2.3.4) from one database to another when purging database entries (e.g. F4211).

our customer periodically moves database records to a database with historic records by first inserting related records into the HISTDB and than deleting the records from the PRODDB. This is done by a custom purge report. The related media objects should be also moved to HISTDB.

Is there an easy way to do so?
