Discrete & Repetitive Mfg in Same Org

Hi All -  We are using Discrete Manufacturing in our organization.  We have a new product line coming in and we may want to use Repetitive Manufacturing.  I was always under the impression that we could not have Discrete and Repetitive Mfg within the same org.  Is this still the case or is this a misconception on my part?
