Comingling in Consigned Inventory

We are on 12.2.6 and have a question regarding comingling in consigned inventory.Comingling will occur whenever the regular stock and consigned stock reside in the same subinventory/locator.However if one has to do a explicit consumption of consigned inventory by doing a Transfer to Regular transaction and if this is being done for a partial quantity - this would lead to comingling.So should such explicit consumption be avoided especially if being done for partial qty?
