Bundle patch vs PSU

I applied the bundle patch on top of the 12.1.0.2 database with prior PSU. I came to know that bundle patches are meant for databases with the in-memory feature. I was told to rollback the bundle patch and install PSU. Please share your experiences and thoughts?
