How to Auto Create a BP record from a WorkFlow BP without taking an Action?

Is it possible to auto create a BP record from a Wokflow BP without taking an action i.e. without hitting 'Send' ?

We have a requirement where a Workflow BP record reaches a certain step (Lets say Status = Approved) and later a particular field is updated on the form (without hitting 'send' using web services 'updateBPRecord method) and when this value matches (lets say  FieldXYZ='Yes') the auto creation should happen. This condition is set in the Auto Creation 'Query' tab of the work flow setup.

We have been using auto Creation in various places but this is a new scenario for us. As per documentation (
