Siebel IP2019 and SVN (Subversion)

Hello:

Has anyone installed SVN (Subversion)  with IP2019 and is that necessary in order to maintain version for Siebel Objects OR is versioning no longer required due to Workspace concept.

You response will help us understand the versioning mechanism for  Siebel IP2019.
