How to purge 1TB (12 partitions with blob data) properly

edited Mar 20, 2020 12:59PM in Database Administration (MOSC) 5 commentsAnswered

I'm new to Oracle DB, managing to administer one Oracle DB with redhat HA cluster.

Recently, per our production manager request, I imported 1TB data of 12 partitions with blob data (image files). Now I need to purge them as the reporting task is finsihed.

How do I properly purge such big data properly?

1. What to monitor while I  purge, such as log file growth?

2. How do I reclaim spaces after 1TB purged? Can empty partition spaces be reused as future data is inserted? The storage is SAN attached EMC.

Usually what I would do when purging is following. But each partition has 100GB worth data.
