I am trying to upgrade 22 servers from Oracle Linux 6 to Oracle Linux 7
I have run into at least 2 issues upgrading from Oracle Linux 6.10 to Oracle Linux 7.7
1) during the preupg step I got 1 failure "You have the Gnome desktop environment session as an option in your x11 session manager." Does this mean I reinstall Gnome classic user interface after the upgrade? How to handle this?
2) While attempting the upgrade on a test system I got "The installed version of Preupgrade assistant allows upgrade only to system version 7.6" I have the latest preupgrade assistance package in OL6 addons of 2.6.0-1.0.1.el6 the version of Oracle Linux I can download from Oracle is 7.7. How to I get a later version of preupgrade assistant package or a down version of 7.6 Linux?
