What is your DB backup architecture?
I am a newer (2 yrs) Oracle DBA. My boss has asked me to review our backup architecture. Since this is my first DBA job, I don't have a wealth of experience to draw from. I am wondering what your backup architecture looks like?
We currently are on an ODA X5-2 running OEL 6 and have around 10TB of data spread across several databases. We retain our backups for 120 days per our retention schedule. We use RMAN to take weekly level 0's, daily level 1 backups, and daily archive log backups. We also take daily full data pump exports of each database, which we use to make some operational activities like refreshing/restoring individual schemas or tables, easier.
