JDE address book security breaks maintenance applications

We are trying to turn on JDE address book security to hide PII for type E ab records. It works fine in hiding this information on AB screens. However, when user attempt to enter work orders in the maintenance applications, they get errors on AB validation for various fields that hold address book numbers. For example, they need to enter a Supervisor AB number. Since the AB data security effectively "hides" all type E records, the WO screen gives an error. How does anyone use the AB security feature if it breaks all the other applications in the system?
