E1 9.1 best practice to copy from item to item attachments that are a pdf document

Is there a way
to copy from item to item an attachment of a pdf document? I know about BF
B4100120 for a text attachment but if I have a path for a pdf in table F00165
in the field GDGTFILENM that points to a directory path can those be copied to
a new item?

I wrote a quick program that looks like it will work.  But reaching out to see if anyone else has done this or if they know of a standard E1 option.
