Any way to remove Deactivated Customer Accounts from Autoinvoice LOV ?

For 1 existing customer a user has created a new additional account in error (Rather than just a new Site under the existing account)
We have deactivated the account but see that it is still in Customer LOV's for AutoInvoice which user management do not want.
I know this is intended functionality (Doc ID 1097660.1) and I there is this open ER 'Enhancement Request 5611593 was logged to request the option to allow autoinvoice to reject customers that are inactive.
This is still in status 15 - Internal Review at Oracle.'
