Equipment Status and its related maintenance work order

In 9.2, we will begin using P1307 Status History for our Equipment.  If I move the status of a piece of equipment to "DOWN", and as a result the tech enters a maintenance work order, is there any way to relate the work order number to that change in status?  Would we have to use the Remark field for that?  The reference could be in the work order or the status change I guess, just a way to tie the two together.  I doubt that the time will work, just because the work order may not be entered right away.
