Has any one automated a batch submission of a JDE UBE?

we have a couple of third party applications that integrate GL information to JDE.  we have a couple of scripts that were written as way back as in 2007 , the code pretty much launches JDE jobs with the RUNUBE command, has anyone used this command externally ?

need some help in redesigning existing executable  thanks
