How can I add a local printer to Oracle to print?

I have a ZD420-T local USB label printer that I would like to be able to print labels  to from Oracle R12.1.3.   I have not been successful in finding a solution to install this printer.  

Anyone with experience with using local printers with Oracle that could help guide me in the right direction?  

Can this be done? 

I have found the the following blog:  https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E36784_01/html/E36821/gjorm.html  but my DBA is telling me that this printer would have to be physically connected to my server to use.
