Difference between using staging lane vs consolidation locator in staging subinventory

Hi Experts,

We are in the process of implement WMS On Premise 12.1.3 . At the time of picking. the material is moved to a packing stations where it is packed and then moved to a rack location . Appointment is booked with the customer forwarder and usually they come to collect the goods within the next couple of days. My question is once the delivery is packed in the packing stations, the rack location where it is moved to in the staging subinventory should it be defined as a consolidaton locator or staging lane ?
