"Total number of Connections" in SAW JDE8.12

Hi,

What is the "Total number of Connections" in Server Administrator Workbench (SAW JDE 8.12 -> on clicking on "View Users")? Does it mean to Total number of DB connections? or anything else?

Can someone provide some pointers on this.
