Third Party Contract

Hello community, it is possible to let a student out of a contract using a specific year or period. For example Begin Date 01/01/2019 End date 05/05/2020. My student have charges until december 2019 and I assigned it to the contract so it applied to the student balance is on zero, but the charges of January are US 450  the contract will not pay for the charges of January, how could I let out that student from the contract only for those charges of January?
