Error occurred on retrieving data xml in BI publisher 12c - reason records over the memory size?

Hello All,

i have BI publisher report with date parameters, some times the date range is not too high report working fine.

but if i provide date range little more getting following error.

the error is : Error occurred on retrieving data xml  (this message confuses, need to show custom error message)

looks like is it because the too large of query results, in that case can show custom error message like "data results too many records" instead default system error message?

if it were too many results, it would provide the results in the report until the maximum was met?
