Preupgrade Task of Period Closing - EBS Upgrade from 12.1.3 to 12.2.8

Hi,

We are doing an EBS upgrade from R12.1.3 to R12.2.8 with OS platform migration from windows to Linux.

Customer is using GL,AP,AR,CM,FA,Purchaing,Inventory,Order Management and Property module.

We have recommended to perform period closing , account for all unaccounted transactions ,perform all approvals and validation before upgrade.

Customer is not convinced and asking for justification or any reference doc for this recommendation.

Need assistance based on the upgrade experience and any referenceable document that can be shared with customer to justify the best practice and recommended approach.

Appreciate a quick response on that.
