Revenue Policy on Credit Memos

Do deferred revenue contingencies or revenue policies work on Credit Memos?  We have set up a Revenue policy based on Credit Classification.  It seems that only invoices get deferred revenue, and credits do not.  Is this the functionlity or can credits be deferred as well?
